5.30.09 Gn14, Mt13

Genesis 14:
A lot of kings around the area where Abram and Lot were went to war against each other. There were 4 kings against 5, Sodom, where Lot lived, was one of the rebellious ones. However, the king of Sodom fled, and the other army took all the possession in the city, including Lot's, they also took Lot and his family. When Abram heard this, He ordered his 318 people from his household to rescue Lot. When Lot was out, the king of Sodom came and offered him some things, but Abram only took for his people what they deserved, he didn't take anything for himself. Therefore, king of Sodom couldn't say that he made Abram rich.

Matthew 13:
Jesus presented many parables. Here is the one with the sower.
the seeds that fell along the path=the ones who hears but do not understand, the evil comes and snatches it away
the seeds fell on the rocky places=people who receive but do not follow up
the seeds fell among thorns=people who receive but got chocked by other life obligations when growing
the seeds fell on the good soil=people who receive and understand.
Parable with the weeds
the kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good wheat in the field, but the enemy went and sowed weeds. He let both grow, but when harvest time comes (judgement day) he would take the weeds out and burn them.
The kingdom of heaven will grow strong and spread.
The kingdom of heaven deserves everything, and is greater than any joy we can find and any possession we own.
The kingdom of heaven was like a net that catches fish, it catches all kinds of fish, but the fishermen only took the good ones, and left all the bad.
People from Jesus's home town rejected Him, because they lacked faith.
