7.9.09 Gn43, Mk14

Genesis 43:
Jacob's family finished what they took back and the famine was still going on, so Jacob finally conformed to the olders ones taking Benjamin to Egypt. They arrived there safely, and Joseph had his servents take them to his house and pepare food for them to eat for lunch. The brothers went to the house and were scared because of the money in their sack. They explained to the steward, he said that they had received the money, and it's alright. Joseph came home and asked about their father and Benjamin. When he saw Benjamin, he went to his inner room to weep because hs missed him dearly. When he came back out, he told them that they should eat. He treated the brothers, and the Egyptians, but Benjamin's food was 5 times as much as everyone else's.

Mark 14:
Jesus and the twleve went to Simon, the Leper's house to eat, and a woman came with an alabaster jar of perfume, and broke the jar and poured the perfume on to Jesus. The disciples started accusing her saying that the perfume could be sold and money given to the poor. Jesus told them to leave her alone, because he said there would always be the poor, but he would not be withe them for long.
Then Jesus told two of his disciples to prepare the passover dinner. He told them to go to a certain person's house and prepare the dinner in the upper room. They did it, and there were no objections from the household. When they were together eating, Jesus predicted that there among the twelve would be one who would betray him. They all went one by one asking: "certainly not I."
Jesns then said that when he was arrested all the people would fled. However peter said to thim that he wouldn't betray Jesus no matter what. Jesus then told him that to night before the rooster crowed two times, Peter would betray him 3 times. Jesus then took Peter, James and John to the moutains to pray. Jesus went a distance from them, but when he came back, the three had fallen asleep. Jesus woke them up and told them to watch out. However they fell asleep a second time. Jesus didn't wake them up, and the third time. Jesus came back from praying and woke them up and told them that the time had come.
When they were going down the mountain, Judas came with a troop of people. He kissed Jesus as a sign of telling the troop who Jesus was, and then they arrested him. One of the disciples cut off the ear of a soldier, but Jesus told them not to rebel.
Jesus then was taken to court, where people were accusing him of different things, but since all the testimonies didn't match up, Jesus wasn't found guilty. However, they accused him of blesphamy, because he put equality between him and God. Peter were among the people in the courtyard. a girl recognized him by the fire. She called him out, saying that he was with Jesus. Peter denied it, then he went out by the gate and the servent girl came and told people again, he denied, then at the gate some soldiers recognized him and he denied. The rooster then crowed a second time. Peter remembered Jesus' words and went out and wept.
